That wild looking paint job is on a Ruxton. They were front wheel drive autos, and as such were built much lower than their rear drive counterparts. The Ruxtons were painted in these horizontal stripes to accentuate the lowness of the car, and were shown around the country at various shows. I believe on the show cars had the stripes. They were in several color themes, blue, brown, etc. The Ruxtons were short-lived, lasting only a couple of years. We had one on display at the Blackhawk Museum, neat looking car.
