The difference is that the old rusty one still has the arm attached - just unscrew it and screw it onto the new one, very simple installation. Test by putting it in a pan of water and heating, place in the pan with the sealed end down, like an upside down hat. Rod should move about an inch when the water hits 160 degrees, or so.

The last one I bought was from Bill Hirsch, but might pay to shop around a bit, prices might vary a little.
