Re: Don's 1937 1090 138CD Limo

New update on my progress or lack of it on the Limo.

I spent two weeks in Kansas after taking a chassis and rebuilt 1937 282 to repair the Limo. I am always kicking myself after the fact, when I buy a car sight unseen. Was told that the frame was not cut. Some of the below pictures will tell a different story. Was told it had all the hubcaps, yes it has 6 hubcaps for a 1948. Worst thing though was during the move from Renton Wa. to Maize Ks the hood disappeared. Along with all the chrome and hardware. About 1K worth of parts gone. Am in the process of dealing with the transport company on that.

I brought back to Alabama the 454 engine and the Turbo 400 and sold it to a co-worker for putting in a Chevrolet of all things. Was told it was taken from a 1998 and it turned out to be a 1991. Oh well sold it for what the 1700 mile trip cost me in gas.

Also took a steering column as the one in it was hotrodded/butchered.

Positive note the Body seems to be quite solid. all four fenders look good. Some slight damage to the grille and grille shell.

The frame is going to be repaired by a man who taught at the College at McPherson Kansas. It is the only College where you can get a degree in Auto Restoration. So that hopefully will work out good. going to put any repairs so that they are aft of the transmission mounts.

My plan is to have it restored mechanically in Kansas and then drive it back to Alabama for the Body and interior to be completed here.

Here are a few pictures I took while in Kansas.
