Didn't feel like working on the car today, but I have been curious as to what was under my seats. Unfortunately, I did not find anything interesting except another rotted body mount. I was hoping to find the build slip or something, but no such luck.
I was hoping that the green seat cover on my car would have protected the original fabric so that I could reuse it. The rear seat is in excellent condition, but under the sheet on the front seat, there is a wear spot right where you sit that is worn almost all the way through. The green seat cover was missing from the front. I couldn't get the front cushion to release, but I peeked under it and I didn't see anything special. I really like the green seat covers a lot better than the original fabric. I'm sure no one reproduces anything like that either. I guess I'll have to use a seat cover kit from Kanter, even though it won't be original. My car would not be worth the money to buy the expensive repro stuff from SMS.
I don't know if the green seat cover is aftermarket or a Packard accessory. The portion that goes under the rear seat is a strange pattern that looks like it would have been from the 50's.
The rear of the car has some kind of rubber, stiff floor mat that is ribbed. In the front is a regular looking rubber mat.
I found/forgot about a box I had in the back seat. It is a Felpro gasket box and it has three of a longer gasket and two which look like they are for a carb to manifold. There was also a rectangular one that might be for the valve lifter cover. Not sure because I haven't worked on that side of the engine yet.
