I dropped by my local machine shop today and asked about having the block, heads and other items checked and cleaned.

Below are the note I came home with and the prices. Of course some of the items below may not be required. I've never had this done before so what do you guys think of these numbers?

Rods and Pistons checked/cleaned $104
Heads cleaned/checked $45
Heads milled $90
Valve job $140
Hardened valve seats $140
Block cleaned/checked $45
Block honing $120
Cam bearings and plugs $45
Crankshaft reground $140
Total $869.00

In another thread Jack Vines says my crankshaft may be to far gone. Will give him a call after inspection.
