I really don't know how well powder coating would hold on exterior parts but I will admit that it crossed my mind as a low-cost alternative.

I never really considered it due to the pitting that was on all my scripts. Powder coaters do not fix the pittings.

When I took my valve cover in for powder coating the guy actually tried to talk me out of it due to some slight pitting but I did it anyway.
