Appears they are using relays too so looks to be just a matter of how they control the relays and connect the armature for any differences.

Since voltage was already going to the stock switches via the existing loom and switch leads were already going to somewhere accessible where the relays could be mounted near the motors, I chose to use what was already in the car as much as possible. A Quick Splice T tap on the existing Battery wire going to the switch connector block to get motor voltage and then the switched voltage out from the old motor leads to operate the relays.
