Duane - surely you are pounding in the correct direction - the pins are tapered. and if you need one, or a pair, of kingpins, I'd be happy to send them to you, Also check that the hole through the wheel support is good - even with the best pin and bushing replacement, a worn wheel support hole will frustrate your efforts.
