Can't help on the side change but from what I see in parts book the switch was available for all models. I know Packard did switch sides from time to time. Not sure if that switch is for the convenience of the driver turning and reaching behind or a typical rear seat passenger sitting on the right side. If you don't have one, easy enough to add or if you like, add one on both sides. The cutaway body drawing in facts book appears to have the cutout in the pillar on both sides. The switch is in parallel with the door switches and just grounds the lead. Splice a short length onto the wire going to door switch and add the pillar switch.

On the rubber parts, don't think you will find any like them so try & save yours. I did mine by carefully removing the wires from the rubber. I think originally the rubber might have been molded onto the cable jacket. There was a hog ring like affair on the inside of bucket as a strain relief to clamp the cable and wires into the rubber. I removed that ring and cut the old wires off fairly short on both sides. Was then able to pull the wires out of the rubber one at a time leaving a mostly empty hole. Once the wires were out I GENTLY heated the rubber with a heat gun until it was softer and was able to squeeze it enough so it pulled out. Removed the rest of the old jacket from the hole and then used new jacketed cable and silicone spray to help the cable back thru the hole in rubber.

Getting it back into headlight was almost the same except the new cable was in the rubber so used less heat and some silicone spray to help it squeeze back in. Once in, reinstalled the ring around the cable.
