I saw a car (I believe it was a '38 Eight) with a similar carburetor fuel inlet design at the Packard clubs' meet in Salado this year. The owner re-routed the fuel line in order to keep it as far away from the exhaust manifold as possible. He did this by routing the fuel line over the top of the front of the carburetor. It has some tight bends but with the right elbows and nipples works well. The fuel line will fit between the bottom of the air cleaner and top of carburetor. Just a suggestion.
