I used Jet-Hot on my '34 exhaust manifold about 10 years ago, it's held up well enough, not perfect as some rust is beginning to show at the base of some of the old rust pits but overall I think you'll be pleased with it. Of course the correct finish for mine would have been blue-black porcelain but that doesn't hold up well for a car mostly used for touring. Not 100% positive but I believe the choke hotbox cover was naked steel or perhaps Parkerized or otherwise metalized to inhibit rust, but it was not painted.
