thanks for this reference, that should be very helpful!

I have started running the new wiring harness and tonight I wired it up just enough to start the car shortly using the key and the starter switch.

I have many pictures to post, but right now I'm in search of a 3ohm internally resisted coil so I can get rid of this external ballast resistor.

the only thing I can really find from a short search is a couple of pertronix units, one at 40k and one at 28k volts.

I don't really care about how many volts, its no race car. I was thinking about the 28k 3ohm unit, but its like 30 bucks....

surely there is a standard universal unit I can get at the local autoparts store that is 3ohms and around like 30k-35k volts for like half that price.

forgot to mention, I measured the ohms on the ballast resistor....it was 3 and settled in at 2.8, probably error on the cheap meter I was using. I need to check to make sure the coil isn't internally resisted as well, although I doubt it.
