long weekend update. The car runs again! All of the motor group wiring is done. all that is left is the lighting and switches related to lighting. turn signals and gauges.

pics labeled as to what the wires do. Not to toot my own horn here, BUT THAT is how the wiring should have looked when they converted to 12v to begin with!!

I pulled out the wiring I didn't need. like electric temp/oil gauges, etc. also the horn positive. basically tried to minimize the harness the best I could and keep any rogue 12v power wires from being around when the power is live.

I'm not sure what that long tab piece of metal is for behind the dash, but it made for a GREAT place to mount the fan relay. and provided the ground wire a place to connect as well! perfect!

alternator charges at idle at 13.93 volts. rev up it gets to 14v. probably need to move the sense wire to the battery instead of the battery lug on the back of the alternator like most chevy guys do.

when I turn on the fans....it goes down to 12.98v. fans are some crazy little bastards!

does it matter which post the wires go on on the brake switch? one post is higher then the other. so I put the brake switch power wire on that one and the other is the return wire. doesn't seem like it would matter.

I even put green and yellow stripped shrink wrap on the negative side of the coil. thought it was a clever touch. lol

the wiring under the dash is not finished, so ignore that mess. also the wiring under the hood will be held to the side panel with clamps when I'm done.
