For the conversion to Carter carb there was a choke conversion kit that you can make. It consists of a cover plate with 2 ears with holes to mount it on the manifold. In the center is a brass male fitting which you attach the choke to manifold tube to. The cover plate has a small, perhaps 1/16" to 1/8" hole for cold air intake. The chamber between the cover plate and new freeze cup is called the choke stove.
