can someone confirm that the rubber washer circled in the picture is indeed not needed. reason for asking is I did not put it in with the new kit you see below the old kit. It was not in the new kit and I don't actually believe it should be there.

BUT, when installed the new kit and pushed down on the piston...the metal washer that sits on the lock spring will move back and forth...seems like it would wear out doing that.

if that rubber washer was in there behind that metal washer then it would keep it from moving back and forth...probably why they put it in there. but that has me concerned that the piston will not return enough to keep the secondary cup from covering the return port to the fluid chamber.

the brakes were working before....but this metal washer moving back and forth when pushing on the piston has me baffled.

thoughts?


Nevermind..... original washed thicker then the one in the new kit. Problem solved.
