taking the door panels off was easy, but mine are not original and are held on by modern plastic christmas tree style push retainers.

to get the handles off i just pushed in on the decorative trim piece and pushed the pin out of the handle and it comes right off.

there are holes all along the edge of the door, which i assume where used for the original style retains as well. the plastic retainers on my panels use these holes as well.

you may have to loosen the bottom of the window trim to get the top of the panel out.

I did take some pictures, but i'm not sure if they will help you or not.

i also took a picture of the spring on the mechanism for the inner door handle. this spring is what provides the click noise when locking the door on the inside. i took this spring off of the 36 door and put it on my driver's door. the reason i couldn't just replace the whole mechanism was due to the linkage being for a back door. to change the spring is a mater of peeling back a couple of bent over retainers on the back and loosening things up enough to slide the spring in.

the 36 doors i had were both rear doors and only one of the springs were usuable. the other was broken already.

so i have two doors that click to lock and two that just slide until i can get or make new springs. probably get.

I only have one more door to finish the vinyl overlay on. ignoring the black marker "driver" i see these were made by M.P.C USA. a quick google search returns a few metal fabrication places, but i couldn't tell you for sure what it means.

i would do the window trim too, but i dont have enough vinyl left over, i need to get more.

I also replaced the latch mechanism on the driver's door with one from the 36, but for some reason the latch had an more then 90 degree bend at the end as seen in the photos. i'm assuming becuase they were from a rear door and not a front. they did not look bent by man...but by machine.

So, i bent them to a 90 degree and worked it over till the latch would move smoothly again. i know have an outside door handle that is solid and doesn't sag.
