thanks to those that have PMed me with information about the parts for the car that I'm missing!

Here is a shout out to HH. thanks for the idea about the temp sender extension.

here it is installed. it does read a bit high because the tube does not stick out of the extension, even though I'm sure fluid is hitting it.

the temp gauge was reading 200 idling in the garage. but I know that is off a bit because the extension is sitting up in the air and soaking in heat from the head.

when I revved the motor and held it at what I thought it would be at normal road speeds the temp dropped to 185. based on the fact that I took a reading at the top of the radiator tank with the same gauge and it was 175 at idle...I say a margin of error of 10% on the gauge because of the way it is mounted. at least it gives me some indication of what it is doing. its better then nothing.

and even though this extension says for autometer gauges only....it fit my cheap ass ones fine.
