Interesting. Maybe a clamp on the hose so there is no possibility of vibrating or pulling against the connection would give some insurance.

Is your system pressurized? If so did you check to see if the cap is the correct length? I would think a newly made radiator would have the modern length but did they instead build it to duplicate the old so it needs a long reach cap? The modern caps that do not reach the sealing surface has caught more than one with pre 55 cars who had coolant disappearing issues.
