Maybe not Amazon, Howard, but you made me think of other obvious sources, and I found that there are plenty of better cameras down to 5.5mm very cheap on eBay. Thanks to you both for your word of caution about the internal geometry. I won't rush to waste my money; I'll need it for Packard parts!
