Yes I've got an above ground diamond mine where I get NOS parts just for the asking. What that saves is refinishing, plating, repairing the old parts. A wiper tower has to have the cables removed then have the plater fill the pits, plate it and recrimp the cables. In the case of the aluminum headlight buckets with the rivets rotted out due to corrosion it saves repair and re-riveting. NOS fenders are dead straight and have no rust to repair.

I'm doing all the labor except the floor etc sheet metal work, any parts I don't have I do the fixing and since I work for free it's minimal. I spend about 15 hours a week including raiding the warehouse. Today my big find was the two chrome plated oval head screws that retain the license light lens
door. The car will be as original as I can make it, no shortcuts

It's so much fun seeing it come back to life I'd even pay to work on it, but then I might run out of money
