I've gotten a start replacing the paper pattern with 16 gauge steel. The first picture shows the shape tacked in place. Next I'll rounded the top edge over to radius it into the formed piece that ties it to the top of the cowl. I made a tool to hammer over the edge. I know that it looks a little rough but when I get the end parts formed and the welding and grinding finished I think it will be a good interpretation of a speedster cowl considering the canvas.
