MJG's 1948 Custom Eight Victoria Convertible

Hello Everyone,

Well I found this old girl on Craigslist a few weeks back tucked away in Ontario just outside of Detroit. Bought it from a wonderful family whose father bought it out of Chicago in the mid-late 60's. Per the son the last time the car was ran was around 1977. It was put away in their family barn up until recently. Considering its origin of sale, it has survived quite well, though it does require floor pan replacement and probably rocker panels. The family had purchased over the years many parts at swap meets and the car has duplicates of many items, though one piece of convertible only trim has gone missing. I had always wanted one of these since I was 12 and first saw Back to the Future. I was thrilled to find this one thinking I may not find one in unrestored condition. It will probably be winter before I can start to dig in on the car and will probably need some technical assistance from some of you who have restored one of these. The interior patterns are non-existent except for door panels and some trace amounts of vinyl.
More to come....
