Thanks for the suggestions. Did you have any issues with the MIG welding? What I was going to do is inset a 1 5/8" OD stainless tube in the ID of the water outlet, fabricate a ring of aluminum to slide over it and weld/epoxy it to the remaining housing.

On the water pump area, I was thinking of either filling or cutting out a circle and welding a new circle in. That is kind of why I was asking abut the MIG experience.
