Any thing new?

funny thing you ask... There are a couple things new:

I went home for thanksgiving and was afforded quite a bit of time to work on the car.

I got some help from company that was over and installed and aligned the trunk lid and hood. The hood will probably need to realigned once I get the trim on the fenders and insure I dont have clearance problems with the doors. But I also got the trunk latch on and the latch catch pan on so I could secure the hood down.

I was not able to figure out the adjustment on the overdrive lock out. So for the time being I just left the overdrive locked out for another day.

I got the dashboard fully buttoned up. I didnt have the top bolt holes lined up initially so I got that sorted as well as the column secured up. Which allowed me to adjust the shifter.

I got the clutch pedal hooked up and adjusted. I also got the BTV installed with the toe plate and the brakes bleed and adjusted. I installed the gas pedal as well.

I removed the body fuse since most of the wires were just laying all over the place and did not want them shorting out. I also got the ignition hooked up as well as the battery cables.

I made a hard line from the carb to the ford thunderbird fuel pump and a hose from the pump to a gas can on the front of the car.

I installed the exhaust from the head pipes all the way to the muffler pipes. I only had to trim about 2 inches off of both head pipes to get everything to fit okay. I didnt bother with the tail pipes since the rear bumper is not on. So I may need to do more cutting once the bumper is on and I have the reference point for the tail pipes.

Engine oil, trans oil and coolant were added. The rear already had fluid in it.

all of this so I could start the car for the first time! it was by far the quickest first start I have ever had. Had to mess with the curb idle and fast idles a bit to get it to idle on its own, but I guess that is expected on a rebuilt engine. Ill be dialing it in at a later date.

But the major rush was to get this car to run, stop and steer so I could drive it out of the garage and bring it up to the house for transport out to pittsburgh. The car was delivered yesterday and is now with me out here in hopes that I will have more than just one weekend a month to finish it up before the driving season starts. I want it on the road next year so I can get use to driving it for when our family goes to disney in 2024.
