Congrats on getting started on your '40. You car is set up for a truck rack (the placement of the license plate fixture on the trunk lid, the plain rear bumper and bumper extensions) indicate that. Do you still have the trunk rack?

Sounds like you'll focus on the engine and running gear to start. There are cautionary steps before you try to start it to avoid internal damage.
