Good observation! Mine is a commercial chassis so quite different than that under a passenger car. Note the size of the massive side rails!

By the way. Typically the bolt goes downward with the nut at the bottom so as to better allow the threads to dry after driving on wet roads. With the threads upward, they will tend to hold the water in the bracket’s channel and promote rust.
