we tend to give most cad plated parts a quick blast with wurth aluminum spray, (not paint-99.9 percent pure aluminum)
as freash cad starts to blacken in the first few years and this has prooven to hold up and is near identical in apearance. last pic is straight cad beside cal plus aluminum spray.
