It kind of sounds like the resistance positions of the 37 sender may be opposite that of the sender used with Clipper S-W gauges -- ie 0 at the empty end rather than full. When you get around to checking the sender and if it is in good enough shape could you measure and hopefully we can get some approximate numbers for future reference.
