Can someone confirm the fasteners that connect the headlights to their riser/bases?

Currently I just have a 1/2-20 hex nut and matching split lockwasher which connect to the carriage bolt that comes down out of the headlight can. Is there supposed to be a concave washer/spacer or anaything like that?
