Added my pic's again and confirn that 63 lbs ft is the correct torque setting for 282 head nuts. ALL Packards of that era were torqued to 63 lbs ft, 6,8 and 12. I used 63 in rebuiling my '41 282 using the spiralling sequence shown and tightening in increments then retightening after 100 miles and later after more extended usage until further tightening was not required. Still going strong when I sold the car 20,000+ miles later.
