Only had 1/2 hr for the car today. I realized early I was not going to make it to a hardware store today so I borrowed a 15/16" socket from work.

I had to use a breaker bar to get the lock nut loose on the low band. The rear band came out easier with a longer socket wrench.

When doing the reverse band, I counted 3-3/4 revolutions until I had it at 20 ft lbs. Backed it back 2-3/4 turns. Seems like that one was out of adjustment.

Tried to count the revolutions on the low band, but after 3 turns, I realized I was loosening it! Forgot to reverse the switch on the ratchet. I'm going to assume that because the reverse was so bad, the low band was worse. I just hope I didn't loosen it so much that the stupid strut fell off.

I took Ross's advise and backed the lock nut out far. I should have cleaned the threads before doing that because it got stuck 1/2 way up the bolt. Used my wrenches to get it loose again. No big deal, but a pain anyway.

Still need to check the measurement in the pic Ross provided and bend the throttle rod to the proper dimension. Made a quick stop at Walmart and bought some of the Silver Rustoleum metallic finish paint that Cli55er mentioned he uses in his blog for refinishing the throttle rod.
