BigKev- You mentioned you were going to NAPA - Did NAPA have the correct brake shoes in stock? Did you have to have X-Ref information with you, or the old brake shoes with you?

Also, I noticed your detailed pictures on the water distribution tube removal (Post #260, page 13). Since I've been having a lot of overheating problems I think this may be worth the effort to pull out and inspect. To do so I'll have to remove the radiator and grill.

So with the pump off, I figure it was a good time to pull and clean the water distribution tube. It took me awhile to pull it loose. I guess 50 years of rust and gunk gets things pretty well stuck. So out came the tube. I guess it was a good thing that the pump was leaking and as such allowed me to clean the distribution tube as the rear 4-5 inches of the tube were completely clogged with rust scale and dirt. I would imagine that cylinder 8 was getting reduced flow compared to the rest of the cylinders.

You mentioned the reduced flow, were you able to clean up the tube? It would be a large undertaking for me to get to the water distribution tube, but if it will cure my overheating I'm willing to give it a go.
