Looks like the dealer lost his No 1 stamp and used his I stamp 3 places.

I'm going back a few posts for this, but the vehicle number was assinged and stamped at the factory, not by the dealer. And just to repeat what has already been said, the "I" is a "1" in the type font Packard used for these numbers, same as on their thief-proof or firewall numbers.

Thanks for the pictures, you've really got a challenge ahead of you. You've got more courage for taking it on than I'd have.
