Dave, if the shifter's not going to work, then it's yours, but be forewarned, the rear 1st and reverse shift fork is broken, and it's possible that I have some replacements already modified coming from Australia. When I tear apart the shifter to replace the forks, I can pull the shifter itself out to ship to you. I have a feeling I'm going to have to lengthen the shifter anyway, so you're probably going to get it. At least I now have an option and won't feel bad about cutting the shifter. One question though, is the knob end supposed to be threaded? Mine isn't, and looks like the threaded portion may have broken off.

Eric,

Look what I picked up from Harvey today! Haven't had the top off yet, but will do that tomorrow. All I'll have to do then is get the forks down to Canberra which I'll do in the next couple of weeks for Peter to weave his magic on them to fit the O/D Trans.

As for the "cane", the O/D Trans I had years ago had the cane modified being bent down about a third of the way up to be nearly horizontal, and a third of the way from the top back to near vertical. Depending on the height and reach involved you may have to do something along those lines. And as for the knob end of the cane, this one doesn't have a knob either but it seems this is the way it was made.
