The body ID tag located under hood on fire wall passenger side of car will ID car year body style and build number of body. These tags are attached with screws not welded. This number no direct connection wit serial number.
If you get build sheet from Studebaker National Museum it will have body number engine serial number and serial number of car and other factory installed options.
Body numbers are not in order as they were built and last in was usually first out.
Serial number is stainless steel spot welded to drivers side door post
