The problem is not the bore size, but rather the pin height. The Packard block is very tall relative to almost everything else. Hence my choice of the 7.100in rods. BTW, the Packard stock rod length is rather long (6.78125in) compared to BBC (6.135) or Pontiac (6.625). 426 Hemi (6.86) is longer, but not long enough to make up for the deck height difference.
