I recall reading of only one 4L60E conversion in a 55 which is on this forum and by all accounts it was very successful. Not sure if the same exact conversion method would be available now and hopefully I am wrong but I believe I read that the person who made the new bellhousing for this particular conversion had passed.

If the Bendtsen adapter will work in place of a new bellhousing then probably a very viable option. Whether it is more practical to adapt and take a chance on a used computer and sensors vs buying a new standalone designed for the job is unknown but always an option.
