FWIW, a friend back in Kentucky built a Packard V8-powered street rod, including his own custom 2x4 intake. I sent him a custom re-ground camshaft for it. His is sort of a low-budget rat rod. He says it is always one of the most looked-at and photographed cars at the local shows. People walk by dozens of SBC-powered cars which cost ten times as much to build to talk to him about his Packard V8.
