In my view a lot of wasted time, effort and money. With the 3.54 rear axle that came with Ultramatic you should be able to cruise to your heart's content at 65-75 mph, and you probably shouldn't be going faster or you'll be outdriving the rest of the car's systems. And behind the straight 8 the Ultramatic should have a very long and trouble-free life if properly rebuilt.
