Interesting how customs differ. Here, the hearses of that era almost always had windows with velvet coverings positioned so the departed's casket could be seen. Funeral parlor name in dignified letters of course. Lately with no wagons made so requiring the conversion of standard cars by the coach companies, they are more like the Chaika with blank sides--dignified name still in view, of course. I think they are called Landau coaches if blank sides and State coaches if they have windows.
