They may have been looking for timelessness, but imo they got clunky and boring instead. The '61-69 Lincoln was what they should have been, or, if not obsessed with geometry, the highly NON geometric, most beautiful full-sized automobiles ever built: the early Fuselage C-Body Mopars of 69-71, the '70 Imperial coupe being the zenith of the breed. I had a '69 Imp and still have 70 and 71 Furys, a convertible and a sedan.
