Kit cars? They are obviously not aimed at the "purists" but have their own particular niche. They present the style of the time being represented in combination with modern mechanical components. And because of that and other influences a lot is lost in execution of the product or is it in the translation? That said, even faithful modern replicas of old cars are not valued as highly as originals are. What appeals to some will not appeal to others and could be summed up as "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
