No, I wasn't there though I'd like to have been, just commenting on the photos I saw. As to your car cutting out at 50 mph or so, it shouldn't! Could be valve float but I think that is extremely unlikely, more likely fuel delivery. BTW your car looked very nice indeed.

As to original leather in a 1925 car, certainly very possible. I suspect it has something to do with the tanning methods of the era (back when chromium salts were used) or something else but you often see leather from that era that remains in remarkable condition. Take a look at the original leather in these two 20s cars, a late Twin Six and a 2nd Series Eight. Maybe we should ask BDC, maybe they just bred better cows back then!
