Charity Car Show

Participated in the 5th Annual Cars for Parkinson's & Dystonia show yesterday. This is also my 5th year participating in the show. In previous years I have shared my Packards ('37 Six Convertible Coupe twice, '47 Clipper Custom, and last year '55 Clipper Super). This year I took the Model A Roadster Hot Rod. A light rain started towards the end of the show, just before the awards ceremony. I got to drive home in a drizzle. Not too bad a ride as it turned out. I got more wet sitting in the show.

It is a well attended show and there was a good variety of vehicles shown, albeit too many new cars. Several Teslas were on display. Austin seems to be a good market for these electric cars.

There was a nice 36 Twelve Convertible shown. It was the only Packard in the show. It is a long-time Austin resident. I think it is the only senior car of that era that I have seen with the exterior rear mounted spare. It looks to be an unrestored car, but with lots of work done on it over the years. Not sure of the originality of the plated radiator surround and the fender lights. The color is close to what is on my 115C. We should get those two together some day.

Another interesting car, to me, was the 1999 Panoz ALIV Roadster. It has been many years since I have seen one of these cars. Here are some photos.
