Hi Guscha

Ray Dietrich intuitively understood pleasing proportions, strove his whole career to impart those to the designs he created. The sport phaeton close-coupled configuration with cowl windshield was not only more intimate but also a better ride and protection from the wind-driven gale for the rear seat occupants.

The long 'tub' of the seven passenger touring hark back to the first decades when maximum passenger capacity was the primary objective. Downside was it placed rear seat passengers high above and even behind the rear axle where the ride was the worst.

Since Leeedy got the ball rolling, here's a few more of the '34 Twelve 1106 Sport Coupe. It must have been quite an eye-opener in 1934 so unlike anything else on the road.

Steve
