Visit to J&R Museum in Bernalillo, New Mexico

Hello All,

I was recently in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque areas. Purpose of the trip was to visit with family and friends and to do some research on my father's Packard business and residence locations in the 1920s and 30s.

While there I visited the J&R Museum with my son and his family. The museum is located in Bernalillo. Bernalillo is a small town outside of Albuquerque and adjoins Rio Rancho. The museum founders have been participants in many of the Great Races. The drive their cars.

Included in the collection are six Packards (a '29, a '30, a '31, and three 32s). I think the Light Eight Coupe Sedan is the most attractive of the Packards. I believe the owners may have taken some liberties with the body colors, but will wait for experts here to comment.

I bought a full set of eight Highway 66 signs at the museum store. The clerks there said that they and never sold the full set before. They are all now mounted on my garage wall.

All in all it is a nice little museum and worth the time to visit if you are in the Albuquerque area.

Here are photos of the cars and their windshield information labels.
