" I would rather do an interior than fix body rust." Ahem to that! I know of two '53 Cavaliers here in western New York, both currently stored inside but not before the climate exacted rust damage and chrome deterioration. If that LA car is mechanically right, re-doing the interior would be more cost-affective than restoring either car here, even with transport costs.
For reference, here are photos of a '53 Patrician that showed up on eBay years ago. Checking Mr. Neal, it would be the Set Number 801, Dark brown broadcloth combined with tan broadcloth. Not as flashy as magenta mouse-fur but far more luxurious, befitting a Packard.
