1947 Custom Super Touring Sedan - Ambitious project or parts

Not much to say about this one. I pulled it from a barn in northern Illinois about five years ago with high hopes of a restoration but the combined realities of no money, time or sufficient skills have conspired to kill that dream.

The car is most likely a parts car however, enough remains that a restoration could be attempted. You'd lose your shirt financially but the critical pieces are present: 356 (engine number matches with chassis build date) with Electromatic clutch and overdrive are all present. Interior is quite rough but everything Packard put there remains and can be used for patterns. The next owner will need to source the Custom wheel covers, a mast for the roof antenna, and rocker moldings. Everything else seems present and accounted for.

The car has been off the road since 1983. It rolls on four good tires (they hold air...) but the engine is seized. I tried soaking it over the winter but to no avail. Plan on a full rebuild.

The body is rough and the right rear fender took a serious hit from part of the barn that was falling down around it. The good news is that it didn't appear to affect the roof/door interface as the doors operate smoothly and maintain a uniform spacing with the roof and rear fender. You might be able to work the damage out however I was planning on replacing the quarter panel.

The pictures tell most of the story. I'd like to move it to a caretaker in the Packard community so I'm starting here first. Send me a PM and we can go from there.

I'd like to get $1500 but will consider reasonable offers. At present I am NOT considering parting it out.

I hold a clear Ohio title in my name that will easily transfer to yours. Loading is no problem as she rolls smoothly and is currently sitting on my driveway on a main road in suburban Cleveland, Ohio. I don't know anything about shipping cars but would be happy to learn if needed.

If you're keeping score, here are the critical numbers:
