There is a lot in my project blog that would apply to your car as well as mechanically they are very similar.

But here is a picture of my setup, now I also have a backup electric pump by the tank as well for priming and vapor lock situations. But 99% of the time, I am just running off of the original mechanical pump.

This first picture shows the difference between a typical standard fuel filter that you can at most auto parts stores and the one I am running, that Jim was kind enough to provide to me.

The second picture shows the previous filter and the electric pump installed inside the frame rail. This is basically how my setup looks now, but with the larger filter in it's place. The small screen filter worked well when the car was in the garage, but as soon as I started moving and the gas sloshed around in the tank and broke loose rust, that filter would leave me stranded because of the small surface area it had. But now since I have had the tank media blasted inside and out and the coating baked on, I don't have any issues. Plus that large pleated filter provides an enormous about of surface area for anything that does get in the tank in the future.
