Battery disconnect switches are a real problem in my opinion-I have had 2 very different switches and both caused problems. They both oxidized and became big resistors in the circuit. The last was a knife switch variety which I thought to be the best/simple design. Anyway if you are having problems try without the disconnect switch. By the way I am back to pulling a lead off the battery.
